Shaving Brush Maintenance - Synthetic
A shaving brush with a synthetic fibre knot is very easy to look after.
The knot will only need to be flick dried after each use, hanging the brush upside down will also assist in keeping it dry but it is not as important as with natural hair brushes.
Just treat the brush with care and avoid extremes in heat. If stored on its side, it is possible for the fibres to be "bent" if they remain in that position for a long period of time.

Australia30mm Boss is a monster
I have the 30mm Boss knot version. It is very dense, as you would expect. I do confess to being a little surprised though. The other Boss I have is the 26mm Butterscotch (now called Cosmos), it is an amazing brush - so soft and luxurious on the face. The 30mm version is quite stiff, and quite prickly as well in comparison. So prickly in fact I thought I may have received the Tuxedo version instead, but it is definitely the Boss version. It may soften up after some use - I had another Yaqi synthetic that had this problem initially and after a month or so, the prickliness went away. If you like large brushes, this one will fit the bill, though if you are looking to try a Boss knot, I'd probably recommend the Butterscotch/Cosmos version first.

I have a number of Yaqi synthetic brushes, 24mm and 26mm and love them all for their different qualities, handle, type of synthetic etc. I recently bought a 30mm White Knight With a Boss knot. Wow, this thing lathers beautifully. I thought it might be too big but it’s not at all. It’s the brush I now reach for most mornings.

Impressed with some of the online comments and favourable reviews about Yaqi brushes, and wanting something a bit different from my several boar brushes, I bought three direct from their website. The superb White Knight has a lovely, quality, creamy white resin handle reminiscent of old style ivory or bone ones, bulbous at the top with a small, low down waist. Yaqi have stamped their name on the side, which in my view adds a touch of class, much like a Simpson, rather than hiding it away on the base. The large 30mm knot and relatively short black 'Boss' loft provide a good backbone for this type of badger hair effect brush, and unlike the larger and more unwieldy Rose one, this stubbier brush is well balanced and a delight to use. A gorgeous brush for scrubbing or painting, and as someone else said here, Yaqi really have mastered the art of making top quality synthetic bristles. If you want a big synthetic latherer, this is all you need. Highly recommended.
