The NEW YAQI Mercury will provide a close efficient safe shave.
This new head is perfect, with super easy blade loading that holds the blade very securely and accurately with no blade 'chatter' when in use. This head sings, providing audible feedback that is both informative and pleasing.
The head provides a smooth glide over the skin. It's mild and fairly effective in use though still cuts really well, definitely a great razor for those who have to shave everyday.
It's shape is similar to a vintage Merkur with side channels for easy rinsing.

Safety Razor Maintenance
It is also recommended to take out the razor blade after each shave, this will release any build up of soap and stubble. Having a magnet handy is a great way to keep your razor blades between shaves.

I was all set to write a big wordy review of this, but realised I didn't need to. Impressions are enough: - This is one chonky boi! It is thicc with a capital T. - Baseplate very much inspired by the Merkur Progress (the cap, not so much - it's now inspired by the Yaqi Tile/Henson). - Damn, that blade reveal o_O - Audio feedback is amazing, very noticeable singing voice. - Very efficient, I don't need to buff.

Loaded this with my new favourite CLOUD blade and was very impressed. I found that the head was easy to use and gave some nice audible feedback. It performed very well on the tougher stubble areas of my face (Chin & Mou) and gave a good close shave all over. There is an obvious large blade gap that looks aggressive but it wasn't, it certainly will suit those with tougher stubble. YAQI have got the dimensions on this head spot on, great performer & a great looker.
